Applications are being accepted for the position of Permit Technician for the City of Glen Dale.

This individual will be responsible for assisting other City officials and employees with the permit application process for building permits, ensuring that applications are completed, that permits are issued, and that all building, construction, renovations, or other such actions within City limits have proper building permits and all work being done is covered by the building permits issued. They shall have the authority and duty to stop work on sites that do not have permits issued and/or do not have permits covering the work being done. This position is not responsible for ensuring technical compliance or compliance to code of work being done under building permits. This position is not a compliance inspector.

Further, this position will also have the responsibility in assisting the City with maintaining knowledge of and dealing with dilapidated and/or uninhabitable structures to ensure that such ordinance can be enforced and is up to date. The need to do other duties as assigned in connection with the above duties will be expected as well. This position is a part-time position and the specific hours are subject to change as needed. However, this position shall at all times be part-time with no benefits being awarded. The minimum number of hours for this position is 16 per week. Salary is negotiable upon application.
