No permit is needed for repairs by homeowners up to $500 unless a contractor is doing the work. All contractors and subcontractors are required to be licensed by the City before a Building Permit can be approved.

Business and Occupation tax must be paid on all jobs.

General contractors pay B&O tax on the entire job.

Every subcontractor is required to pay B&O tax on their portion of the job.

Approved Building Permits expire one year from the issue date.

All requests for building permits will be made by completing a building permit application. For construction, additions or remodeling, a statement of the intended use along with a layout or plot plan showing the exact dimensions and location is required.
